About Us

Our partnerships with community park districts, local schools and organizations enable us to create programs for all levels of ability.

We’re still growing, and know we haven’t achieved our success without our staff. Our staff knows that creating a good relationship with every participant is key. Enthusiasm and awareness only begin to describe our full-time staff members. For starters, NWSRA professionals hold:

• degrees in Therapeutic Recreation or closely related fields
• certifications with state and/or national professional recreation associations

And know-how that includes:

• program development
• leadership
• behavior management
• lifting and transferring techniques
• defensive driving
• lifeguarding
• water safety instruction

Specially-trained part-time staff and volunteers add to the dedication and understanding we give to all participating children and adults. And that means everyone can achieve their best with fun and meaningful activities. That’s what we’re about.
